Who we are?
Outlier CrossFit is a physical training facility designed to provide you with options for a healthier lifestyle. We will train anyone willing to change their lives for the better. We train using CrossFit methods, which are based in functionality. Aesthetics are a side effect of our training plan, not our goal.
Through the coaching and direction of the Outlier team, it is our philosophy that your results are a direct reflection of the effort and sacrifice you put forth; we ask you to do nothing that we have not already done. Our only request is that if you use our training, do so with courage and heart. Train to your highest level of intensity, and hold nothing back. There is no magic rep scheme, workout, or diet; the magic is in your determination and how you overcome your obstacles.
As Outliers, we are here to provide you with direction and maintain your focus; it is up to you to accept the challenge and become the Outlier within.
Outliers, according to the statistical definition, are values that deviate markedly from the other values from a sample. When applied to society, we can define outliers as the anomalies of the human condition. They are the women and men who have, against all odds, achieved extraordinary success through extraordinary effort. They represent the best of the best – the prototypical role model by which we all aspire to be.
At Outlier CrossFit, our goal is not to make you extraordinary. Rather, our goal is to provide the tools and programming you need to show you that you already are.
What We Do
Outlier CrossFit’s vision is to provide innovative CrossFit programming that challenges personal human performance and results in a level of fitness that most thought was simply unattainable. We provide an athletic environment grounded in proven CrossFit methodologies to promote confidence, functional capacity, and elite performance in our clients.
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. It is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains. They are Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity.
At Outlier CrossFit we work exclusively with compound movements and shorter high intensity cardiovascular sessions. We’ve replaced the lateral raise with push-press, the curl with pull-ups, and the leg extension with squats. For every long distance effort our athletes will do five or six at short distance. Why? Because compound or functional movements and high intensity or anaerobic cardio is radically more effective at eliciting nearly any desired fitness result.
Outlier CrossFit is a family of exercise-loving people who have made health a way of life!
You simply cannot beat our sense of community. A group of close friends who are very passionate about CrossFit and at the forefront of the CrossFit movement formed Outlier. We want to share our passion with others! We have truly become a family, encouraging each other to stay the healthy course—we are very proud of all our family members at Outlier CrossFit. The CrossFit movement is truly contagious, causing us to expand to over three times the size since we opened our doors on March 7, 2011. We have brought on many talented trainers, added a USAW barbell club, and have sent a team to the SoCal Regionals every year since we opened in 2011. At the SoCal Regionals, we have placed in the top 6 for two of those years. Most importantly, we have remained a close-knit community, watching our babies grow up in the gym, developing some amazing friendships—and we have always had fun along the way!
We are beyond proud of Outlier CrossFit’s growth over the years, and we can say that we would not be the gym that we are today without the members that have walked into our gym and become a part of the Outlier Family! We understand that community is one of the main reasons people keep coming back to us and we make sure this is always a priority. Most of the time, people will stick around after class to hang out with their fellow members. We like to do social events to keep the community strong
Some Feedback From Our Members
“Very welcoming, you can definitely tell that the outlier community is like a family.”
“Most INSPIRING gym I’ve ever belonged to. Not just the trainers, but the gym members itself all push hard, are supportive, and always give everything they got for every workout- It truly is inspiring. Although it may look intimidating at first with the loud cheering, sweating faces, kick-ass music and grueling daily exercises, the whole Outlier CrossFit family is there supporting each other, pushing each other farther than they thought possible. It is such a great place to go to because they all understand that not everyone has the same level of fitness. They will be cheering you on if you’re the first person done or the last person done. I’d encourage ANYONE and EVERYONE to join this gym who really want to see what they are truly made of. Plus the camaraderie is amazing. I find myself showing up early and leaving late to support and watch these outliers work it!”
“Quality of coaching, programming, positive atmosphere and the members that go make me want to come back.”
“Since the first day I showed up, the trainers were really encouraging. They understood I knew nothing about Crossfit and did one on one demonstration with me so I could understand. It was the atmosphere that they created for me that I will never pick another gym. They are awesome and I enjoy working out because of Outlier. They have helped me become a stronger individual and helped me get into the best shape I’ve been in years.”
“I love the sense of family that Outlier offers, as well as the always encouraging trainers and constant feedback on form.”
“Trainers are the pillars that hold the community together. One of the reasons I keep coming back is because the people teaching the classes care.”
“Great people. Great coaches. Great warm-ups and WODs!”
